Our History

The Rockwell story began with local Wilton resident Stephen Rockwell Desloge. A photographer by hobby, Stephen had a vision to highlight and feature local artists in his community. Working with Wilton Art and Framing in January 2002, he was able to see his vision come to life by opening up an art gallery as an extension of the shop. With this foundation, Rockwell Fine Custom Framing cemented its roots in the art itself. Bringing a team of artists together in design and custom framing, Rockwell created a space to respectfully and passionately bring art to life. Expanding throughout Fairfield County, Rockwell is proud to now offer three convenient locations with an array of services to highlight any piece that comes through their doors.

“When a person comes to Rockwell for personalized picture framing, they are bringing something that is important enough to be preserved; from children’s art to historical documents, sports jerseys to christening gowns, photo copies to photographs; all require the same level of creativity and care.”

Stephen Rockwell Desloge

Founder

Stephen spent the first 22 years of his career with Enterprise Rent-a-Car where he managed sales and operations in Southern New England. Steve opened over 45 offices in area and was able to get to intimately know the communities and towns of Fairfield County over that time period. The “Rockwell” in Art and Framing is Stephen’s middle name, named after Norman Rockwell, a relative of Stephen’s. Photography has been a long time passion of Stephen’s. His appreciation for art and design coupled with his extensive experience in providing best of class customer service are the founding principals for Rockwell Art and Framing.
